Iain Sinclair (b.1970), studied computing science and graphic design at the University of Technology Sydney, publishing several papers on image synthesis and completing a B.Sc. in 1993. In 1996, he commenced a Master of Arts (Hons) at the University of Western Sydney. His research thesis surveys the Mandala types prevalent in East Asia and investigates their relationship with the development of Buddhist esotericism. A translation of the Chinese Maayaajaalatantra is also under way. He is currently on leave of absence, working full-time as a graphic designer in Singapore's broadcast industry. Has also contributed over a thousand terms to EDICT, an online Japanese-English dictionary.
